Hello Sir, I am a student currently in second year IIT Delhi. When I came to Delhi I was 62 kgs and had no stamina. In order to stamina I started with exercises and sports. However due to improper nutrition along I lost my weight to 45 Kgs. I had to quit my sports activity there after and now I have neither stamina nor weight. I try to eat whatevr I get but I cant do anything to increse the two. Can I have your suggestion in the matter?
Welcome to HCM This is Dr Amit. I can understand your concern very well. Sudden weight loss can be due to so many factors including improper diet or any underlying disesese. You have not mention in your query that within how many months you lost 17kg of your weight. I will advice you to do couple of tests like Hb, CBC, Ferritin, Sugar profile and Thyroid profile to rule out any other possibility under guidance of your physician. Till that take proper balanced diets containing carbohydrates, protiens and fat, take multivitamins, slowly start your sport activities and take proper rest. Feel free to ask if you have any other query. Regards
