What Slows Down The Growth Plate Closure?
Yes, I would like to know what would slow down growth plate closure for an adolescent girl 16 years old. The growth plates were measured and are barely open. What is your take on steroidal augmentation, such as, estrogen or dhea.... I am a practicing MD. Thanks

Use of steroids for growth augmentation leads to an increase in growth velocity initially but over time it leads to permanent epiphyseal fusion leading to an overall stunted growth.
