What Soft Tissue Damage Should I Be Watchful For After Falling On My Back?

I fell backward and landed on a cement step on my back. There is serious discomfort just to the right of my spine, about an inch below my bra line. I would expect a bruised rib to hurt more. What other soft tissue damage should I be watchful for? I think I will be ok, unless the pain gets a lot worse.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can take an X-ray chest to look for any rib fracture.
Soft tissue injuries are not serious and will resolve spontaneously.
You can take analgesics like ibuprofen or Diclofenac in case of pain.
Apply ice packs for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
