What Test Should Be Done For Headache, Inflamed Intestine And Weight Loss?

My daughter is 27. She has been experiencing headaches, vomiting, diarrhea, cold sweats, loss of appetite, weight loss and a high white blood cell count. She has also diabetes. She has had an endoscopy which showed inflammation of the intestine and esophagus and several negative CT scans. All other blood work is normal and c diff was negative. They say it is a viral infection and there is nothing that they can do. Frustrated. What else should she be tested for?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

First of all, your daughter should do a biopsy from the affected parts of the intestine and esophagus. Moreover, she should do CBC and Liver function tests.

If the investigations were normal, she would go to an endocrinologist to control the blood glucose level and to an oncologist for further investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dr/Mustafa, Neurologist
