What Tests To Be Done To Avoid Frebile Convulsion In Future?
Dear Doctor, My son is 3.5 yrs old. He had undergone 4 frebile convulsion 3rd episode. 1st – in 1 yr , 2nd – in 2.5 yrs , 3rd- in 3 yrs, 4th –in 3.5yrs. I am afraid of his such frequent frebile convulsion situation. This happens only when his is having fever. Doctor advised to give Meftal –p syrup 5 ml when fever is 99. and if fever is 100 then give imol syrup 5 ml and also advised to give frisium tablet – 1 in every 24 hrs. Pls. advise what to do?What necessary test to be done to avoid such frebile convulsion in future? Need your urgent help in this matter as i m worrying now.
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic Febrile convulsions occur when there is high fever due to any cause. There is no specific test to prevent febrile convulsions. Prevention of fever with paracetamol and tepid sponging. Frisium tabs twice daily during high fever for 3-4 days to prevent convulsions. Once the child is more than 6 years old the febrile convulsions cease spontaneously. There is nothing to worry.
