My 6 year old daughter was drinking a slushie and somehow shoved the straw in her left tonsil. The straw did not get stuck but it was bleeding for about 10 minutes and she is complaining that it hurts. I looked inside her mouth with a flashlight and I see the area the straw hit and all I see is that there is white in that area. What should I do and how do I know if it gets worst?

What To Do After Having Straw Stuck In Tonsil?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. According to history provided it seems to be old posterior pharynx injury. the white page could be from infection or it could be the fibrotic patch I suggest you to consult otorhinolaryngologist for posterior pharynx examination if needed then throat swab can be taken and send it for culture if just now no bleeding is occurring then no need too much worry. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
