What To Do For Congestive Heart Failure At Old Age?
My grandfather was admitted yesterday. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He has fluid retention from his feet to his groin. He is 94 years old. Recently he has been unable to shower and he is increasingly unable to dress dress or get around. What can we expect?

Congestive Heart failure at the age of 94 means nothing much can be done . But this depends on the Ejection Fraction parameter seen in 2D ECHO scan . If his ejection fraction is not very less then with proper medication and proper diet he can still lead an acceptable quality of life .
Ask your doctor to tell about his Ejection Fraction and I will be able to tell how his outcome will be .
