My son has recently started having difficulty swallowing and says he feels like he has been punched in the throat. He is 16, but I know he is smoking too even though he denies it. I plan on taking him to the doctor, but it will be a few days before we can get in and I was just wondering if this is something that I should be taking him to the urgent care center about.
This could be due to trauma or infection. A visual examination is required. I would suggest you to take your son to a ENT Specialist and get a checkup done. Give him lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.
Take care!
