Hello
I hit the back of my head about a week ago. My friend was pulling my boots off and I fell on my back and it the back of my head.
I was not knocked unconscious I immediately got up and seemed to be fine. I am a bit worried and not sure if I should see a doctor. I feel a slight headache at the back of my head

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. As your head injury is week old and you are conscious, oriented, alert and having mild headache, it seems your injury was mild. You can observe alarming signs of head injury like
: vomiting
: seizures
: onset of new focal deficit
: persistent headache not relieving by medication
: memory deficit
: decreasing consciousness or loss of consciousness

If there are no signs, do not worry.

If you notice any of above signs, consult ER for management as it might need urgent treatment. At home, you can keep your head at higher level than chest. Turn head on either side in case of vomiting. Avoid drugs which can cause sedation.

Thanks. Hope it will help you. Take care
