What To Do For Pain And Pressure In Ears After Blowing Nose?

When I blew my nose there was a high pitched puffing noise in my ear. It happened again about 30 minutes later. At first if felt like pressure had been relieved. But several hours later there is pain. It feels as though something in my ear is swollen, and I can't hear as well out of it.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

Regarding your query for pressure in ear, blockade, pain and impairement of hearing just after blowing your nose indicates that some infected discharge from throat had been pushed in eustachian tube and ear by increased positive pressure of throat in the act of blowing nose.

You may take now-

1- Tab Paracetamol.

2- Anti histaminic and decongestant.

3- Steam inhalation.

4- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

Probably above will help you otherwise consultation with ENT specialist will become necessary.

Regards.
