What To Do For Soft And Tender Spot On Head After Hitting Head?
My wife slipped and fell today hitting her head..... there was a egg at first so we applied ice immediately and most of if not all of the swelling has gone down.... now she has a soft and tender spot on her head where she hit ..... Is that anything to worry about?
I have gone through the query and think that you have a superficial injury to the head. This occurs when there is a trauma. Accordingly, there are stages in the healing of this.
Initially, there will be some hardness as the area becomes tightened with blood and tissue fluid. Later on, there will be breakdown of this fluid and dense inflammation which leads to softening of the area. Based on this, it seems that the injury is in the second phase.
If there are any episodes of vomiting or dizziness, I advise that you take her to a Doctor or to the ER so they can evaluate for any other causes or for a brain injury.
All the best and wishing for a speedy recovery.
