What To Do For The Bump On The Inner Thigh?

I have a large, hard bump on my inner thigh. I tried to squeeze it yesterday and it got much bigger (golf ball size). I put a hot wash cloth on it and it seemed to get a little better overnight but is still very big and painful. Could this be n ingrown hair, or something else?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that painful bump on inner thigh that is tender to touch, seems most probably be due to formation of an Abscess that has not yet started draining..

It occurs most commonly due to hairfollicle infection or Folliculitis while other causes can be infected gland in the area or infection in the skin leading to pus formation under the skin..

I would suggest you to consult a General surgeon and get evaluated.
He can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and topical application of antibiotic, steroid and numbing ointment..
Acourse of oral antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can also be advised..
Do warm compresses as it can ease in draining it off..
If it does not improve or start worsening then Incision and Drainage can help in faster resolution..
