What To Do For The Migraine And Pain In The Eye?

hi, doctor, i frequently ( once in 10 days) suffer from migranie ??? one side pain right from eye, above ear till neck. some time it goes with migranil tablet. but some time doesn t work. can u suggest me that the said table is safer to have it. or any other medicine is better to quick relief. pls suggest. tks Sanjay.

Hello Sanjay,
Thanks for being in follow-up.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have advised you that your frequency is high enough to start you on prophylactic anti-migraine therapy.Migranil is one of the first line drugs for abortive therapy.It can cause side effects like ringing in ear,dizziness,palpitations and some more but in a few individuals only.You can take it for terminating the acute episode.Alternatively,you can go to 'triptans' for terminating the acute episodes, which are having lesser side effects.Meanwhile,it is time for you to start one of the prophylactic drugs like beta blockers,tricyclic antidepressants,anticonvulsants or calcium channel blockers.Hope it helped you.
