All his symptoms are suggestive of depression. Depressive symptoms are seen in some cancer patients especially as time progresses. Since the main aim of therapy towards the end life is to keep the patients free of pain and symptom free, he needs to be treated for depression. Tricyclic antidepressants are the drugs of choice since he has sleeplessness also.
