Hello Doctor......I had a iliostomy in September 2012. Then in April if 2013 I had a reversal surgery Hartmans something & since that day I have had explosive diarrhea & was hospitalized in October 2013 with a bowel obstruction. What to do now? The diarrhea just goes on and on
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Now you need to do barium enema test and see if there is some stricture or adhesions in abdominal cavity which could cause your symptoms and difficulties. Then it can be surgically treated again. Also, you should take probiotics, vitamin B12 and avoid fried, fatty food and sweets. Second, it may bacterial enterocilitis or bacterial overgrowth syndrome. To rule this out you should do stool analysis and then appropriate treatment can be planned. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
