Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am hungry all the time and it s not in my head like the drs have suggested and said that I have to become more disciplined. I ve tried many diets but I am hungry all the time. It s like something in the back of my throat keeps majking me feel hungry. I know , you think I m talking crazy too.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of your having hunger all the time, it is something you are feeling at the back of throat. It seems you have already consulted Doctors who have suggested this to be due to something at the back of your mind which you do not want to accept. This condition is called polyphagia and in such a condition I would advise you the following: Consult your doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations: Blood sugar, thyroid function tests, hormonal profiles, insulin. Upper GI endoscopy including pharyngoscopy. CT scan of brain All such investigations will help to rule out the probable physical cause. If all the investigations are normal please go for psychoanalysis and further management.
