What To Do If The Baby's Heart Beat Is Not Seen In The Scan When Pregnant?
Hello am 23yrs, marriedand i am pregnant.i consulyed doctor she told to take ultra sound scan and i did. in this test they are telling that baby's heartbeat is not seen. am 6 week pregnant.they have told me to scan agan after 2 weeks....is my baby having any problm.
Absence of heart baby's heartbeats in the ultrasonography is not a good sign. It suggests either there is no pregnancy, or there is gestational sac without embryonic pole in it (blighted ovum) or non-living baby. If the gestational sac also is not seen, it means there is no pregnancy. In such cases, you should just wait for menses or take some hormonal medicines to induce the menses. If gestational sac is seen without embryo and its edges are corrugated, it suggests blighted ovum. Usually it gets aborted spontaneously or may require termination. If the baby is non-living, termination of pregnancy is required. Your obstetrician will confirm the diagnosis with proper tests and advice you accordingly.
