What To Do If Throat Is Swollen Making It Difficult To Swallow?

Hi, I am a 15 year old girl and for the last three days my throat has been swelling up and making it hard to swallow and sometimes breath. A couple of days ago my cheeks and tongue swelled up also. Benadryl helps the swelling but it is very scary because I do not know what is causing it.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The swelling in the throat can be because of the peritonsillar abscess or parapharyngeal space infection. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole combination(if you are not allergic). Do saline gargling.
