What To Look For After Injury In Kids?

my 3 year old just fell and hit his forhead on the corner of my computer desk. did not have time to break his fall so it was full force. He has a huge bump, swelling and purple around it. what do we need to look out for, or when is it time to go to ER. Can he sleep right away or do we wati?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I understand your concern. First be reassured that your kid is normal. I will suggest you danger signs of head injury -
1. Vomiting continuously
2. Seizures
3. Watery of bloody discharge from ears and nose
4. Unconsciousness
5. Altered sensorium or behaviour.
If none of them are present, I don't think you should worry about his trivial head injury. For pain you can give oral Paracetamol in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly.
