What Treatment Is Suggested For Bruise And Swelling On Thigh?
My car got bumped to neutral and I was dumb and tried to stop it from hitting a parked car. I was outside the car when this happened. I stopped the car by pushing it back but not befor using my body as a buffer. My leg was pushed between cars for about 15 seconds. I m happy to say neither car sustained injury but I did. My thigh is developing a large bruise with swelling where it was being pressed. If I visit a doctor I ll have to pay for it out of pocket so I don t want to go for a doc visit unless I have to

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The large bruise and swelling is likely to be due to a hematoma formation in the area. You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
