HI
Thank for asking to HCM
If I would be a doctor of your son then I would treat him symptomatically and not with the antibiotic and with any cough syrup or medicine, this could be allergic cough this types of cough initially begins with fever, and later this become afebrile conditions, now stop giving all the medicine only antipyretic can be given in case of raised body temperature more than 100 F, the cough will take little more time to come around, nothing to worry he will be alright soon bye.
