What Treatment Is Suggested For Low Placenta In Pregnant Woman?
i m 21 week pregnant, and the doctor said that my plecenta is slighlty low, how do i make it at correct position? or is there any sleeping position which may affect to get plecenta at right place or is there any precaution to get placenta at correct position?
Hi, I have gone though your question. The placenta usually shifts upwards in the uterus as the pregnancy advances. The placenta, if found low even on subsequent ultrasounds, is then called placenta previa. There are many causes of low placenta like previous c section, women with previous 2-3 pregnancies, twins, previous pregnancy with low placenta, and in most cases the cause is unknown. There is no way to get placenta in right position, as it is attached to the uterine lining. There is no sleeping position or any precaution to get placenta in right position. I would suggest you to get repeat ultrasounds at 24-26 weeks and again at 34 weeks to detect if placenta is still low. In that case, you will be needing a cesarean section at 37-39 weeks, if no problem occurs earlier. In the meantime, the precautions you should take to avoid any bleeding from low placenta are to avoid intercourse and lifting heavy objects. Hope this answers your question. You can get back to us for further queries. Wishing you good health.
