What Treatment Is Suggested For Pea Sized Lump At The Back Of The Throat?
I have a yellow pea sized lump at the back of my throat and its been there for weeks now, I thought it might have been a tonsil stone but it wont budge and has veins through it, it doesnt hurt just irritating as I can feel it all day! also I have lots of gunk at back of my throat all the time and a dry mouth, thank you
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood that you have a pea sized lump at the back of throat present for weeks, it is just irritating, not hurting. It has blood vessels seen around it. This is most probably due to granular form of pharyngitis and one of them has gone into a stage of hyperplasia hence appearing as separate entity.
I would advise you the following: Consult an ENT Surgeon to rule out any sinister cause such as cancer of so. Get started on a course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines, probiotics and symptomatic and supportive treatment. At the same time get your blood and urine tested to rule out diabetes o so on. Get reviewed regularly and to try cauterization if required, if the medical treatment fails.
