What Treatment To Be Taken For Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue Syndrome And Migraines?
HELLO. HERE ARE MY SYMPTOMS. I HAVE FYBROMYALGIA, CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME AND MIGRAINES. RECENTLY AN OPTOMETRIST WAS CONCERNED I HAD OPTIC NEURITIS. SHE THOUGHT I COULD HAVE MS. I SAW AN OPTHALMALAGIST AND HE STATED NO ALTHOUGH HE MEASURED MY OPTIC NERVE AND I HAVE TO RETURN IN 3 MONTHS. IN THE PAST FEW DAYS, NEW SYMPTOMS HAVE DEVELOPED OF FACIAL NUMBNESS, BLURRED VISION AND MY LEGS ACHE CONSTANTLY. I SEEM TO SAY THE WRONG WORDS AT TIMES AND MY GAIT IS OFF SLIGHTLY (I DON T WALK STRAIGHT). I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION I HAVE TMJ.
In the setting of fibromyalgia and migraines, the most appropriate treatment would be an antidepressant-like Amitriptyline which is effective in fibromyalgia and headache treatment. Anticonvulsants like gabapentin would be another option.
I would advise consulting a neurologist gait and numbness issues, if abnormalities are found on neurological exam an MRI might be considered to exclude MS definitely.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka, Neurologist
