What Treatment To Be Taken For The White Spot On Tonsil?

i have a single reoccurring white spot on my left tonsil. no symptoms of strep, had a strep test done came back neg. my left tonsil doesnt have that 'flap' but the right side does. its kinda dark and a white spot. i am a smoker, whats this spot?? plz someone help

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you white spot on tonsil. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tonsillitis , viral pharyngitis , mononucleosis or tonsil stones. Need not to worry. You should quit smoking first of all. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles thrice a day , avoid acidic and cold food or beverage and suck on sugar free lemon candy . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory. Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy , coblation cryptolysis or laser tonsil cryptolysis .
