What Was The Screw With A String Attached To It For The Vaginal Surgery?

Several years ago, I had to have reconstructive vaginal surgery due to my bladder falling several times & having 3 surgeries to fix it that did not work. The last 3rd one of those was vaginal mesh insertion which caused me a great deal of problems & I had to have two more surgeries which included the reconstruction. The last surgery was to remove more of the mesh that had been missed during the reconstruction. I continued to have a leakage for the next two years that the doctors could not seem to explain. About a month ago, a screw with a string attached came out while I was urinating & within a couple of days, the leakage stopped completely. I was wondering what that screw was for & why none of the doctors that I saw for my problem didn't tell me about it & explain that it would come out eventually. Any ideas? Just curious. Brenda
