General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
The cause of such a sudden appearance of a golf-ball sized lump after a feeling of pain on swallowing a small capsule can be a stone impacted in the left sub-mandibular salivary gland.
I would advise you to consult an ENT Surgeon to get a clinical evaluation, actual physical examination, Endoscopy and CT scan of the area to get a proper diagnosis and get a proper treatment.
