Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

More of an issue are the other underlying conditions. Basically, decadron is never used just to increase appetite and generally is used in serious autoimmune diseases. Stopping it therefore is done gradually with monitoring to see if the underlying disease comes back.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman, Addiction Medicine Specialist
