What Will Happen If I Take Primolut During Pre Menopause?
i am pre menopausel, didnt get a period fro 4 months but did last month now i have somethink on this week end and i have been getting cramps like a period is due for the last fornight and i dont want one for this week end as have somethink on..my doctor has given me primolut N 5mg to take to delay this...now i need to know will this difentaly stop my period or with being menopusel will it though everything into turnbull and give me a period

Pirmolut N is as oral contraceptive pill to regulate the menstrual cycle. Usually it is prescribed with 21 plus 7 days schedule which is 21 days with tablet and seven days without tablet till the next schedule in started. Primolut N is Norethisterone which is a synthetic progestin which acts similar to endogenous progesterone. This hormone levels falls in non conception and the menstruation begins.
This drug acts by changing the vaginal secretion preventing sperm motility, prevents the endometrial change during the early phase of the menstrual cycle and prevents ovulation. Progestin makes the cycles regular, controls the bleeding during menstruation, decreases the pain due to menstrual cramps. It is enough to delay your menstruation. Continue the medicine, as per your doctor's advise.
