Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Will Happen With Low Ejection Fraction Of Heart?
My aunt is 79 years old. She just suffered a heart attack and has congestive heart failure. Her ejection fraction is 10% and she has a pacemaker and defibrulator. Her condition seems to be getting worse very quickly - memory is gone, very tired all of the time. Someone told me that with an ejection factor this low toxins will build up in her body and eventually she will pass. I am trying to understand if that is correct and what I can expect. Hopefully you can help me. Thank you.
hello,i have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM. Actually EF 10% is certainly very low.Long term survival is definitely short. But as she has pacemaker and a difib. you can expect good quality of life.No scope of toxins due to that.she should restrict her activity and take proper medicines . My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD
