Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Would Be The Diagnosis For Painful Bowel Movement With Rectal Bleeding?
I have tight bowel movement. When I go to the bathroom for bowel movement I feel pain and I see a little bit of blood. For the past two days. I know there is more bowel movement but it is stuck What should I do? If I go to the doctor what would the doctor say?
As per my surgical experience, the issue of painful bowel movement with rectal bleeding since 2 days indicate acute pathology as fissure or hemorrhoids (usually precipitated via hard stool making to strain a bit more than normal pressure).
In my clinic, I recommend the best guidelines for conservative management after clinical per rectal and proctoscopy examination on OPD basis as
- sitz bath (sitting in a tub filled with lukewarm water)
- bulk-forming laxative as ispaghula husk
- best analgesic and anti-inflammatory as tramadol hydrochloride or diclofenac
- local application of xylocaine jelly after sitz bath and toilet use
- dietary precautions
- avoidance of smoking or alcohol if consuming
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
