What Would Cause A 14 Month Old In Semi Consciousness State?

My 14 month old niece has a tendancy to boucne and then go very rigid with her eyes closed and seems to be in a semi concious state. It is quite worrying to witness and she has to be picked up out of her chair or where ever she is sitting to relieve the rigitity. Is it something that we should seek medical help with or is it just brought on by her constant bouncing?

Pediatrician, Neurology 's  Response
Are they episodic and precipitated by cry, anger or frustration? If not, I would indeed consider abnormal and ask for EEG and EKG because they look like syncope attacks. Although breath-holding attacks are common in this age, one must worry and seek medical advice if they recur with no reasons.

Pediatrician, Neurology Dr. Riaz Ahmed 's  Response
is this anxiety provoking events as breath holding? is it episodic tantrums? is it paroxysmal dyskinesia? is it a seizure phenomenon? all these could be answered only when you clip a video and show it to an expert. If she is off consciousness, then a EEG is needed, if symptoms occur without any cause.
