What Would Cause Persistent Numbness From The Anesthetic Injection To Remove A Cyst From The Base Of My Thumb?

I had a cyst removed today from base of my thumb. it is wrapped up I do not think they made the dressing tight. I got some kind of block or just injection to numb the thumb and index finger. The top of my thumb feels like it is in a tunicate or something. Really bothering me. Still numb though.
