What Would You Recommend For An Itchy Rash On The Face And Torso That Persists After A Combination Of Prednisone, Benadryl, Claritin And Ranitidine?

What would you recommend for an itchy rash on the face and torso that persists after a combination of prednisone, Benadryl, Claritin and ranitidine? It has been 2 weeks since the rash appeared. I have been doing some renovations to a house we recently purchased and have found some mold. I have worn a mask ever since the onset of symptoms.

Hi,

You have been broadly treated for many different possible rashes, however the one type of rash which you have not been treated for is a fungal eczema. This is a quite common type of rash, which is often overlooked. I suggest contacting your dermatologist to get a proper assessment and to inquire about the possibility of a fungal eczema.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maria Riechel-Sarup, General & Family Physician
