Wheezing, Shortness Of Breath, Coughing. On Benadryl. Sufficient?
My ten year old son woke up at 4 am weezing and short of breath after a deep hoarse 2 minute bout of coughing. I got him inot fresh air, gave him 4 tbsp. of Benadryl and after 30 minutes he is still weezing but breathing much better. No fever . He did not eat anything different than normal. He had an early morning attack like this 3 years ago after playing in dust. He had a filling at the dentist 18 hours ago.

It seems that your might be having allergic bronchitis giving rise to difficulty in breathing and wheezing.
Along with benadryl give some anti-asthmatic syrup or tablet for easy breathing.
Try to find out allergen.
Avoid dusty and humid atmosphere.
Avoid junk food and cold drinks.
Ok and take care.
