Hi there....I was told by the cardiologist that I had two 70% blockages of the two main arteries of the heart and lately I ve been having some pain in heart area. I wish he hadn t told me cause I find myself worrying if Ifeel any disoomfort in that area. When do they perform stents? Just wondering...no big deal. Im a 66 year old female. Yea!

Hi
When the blood vessels (arteries) ,of the heart are blocked it is rated according to the percentage of the block&treated accordingly.

70% of the blocks are usually treated with introduction of coronary drug eluting stents by the interventional cardiologist, which requires short duration of stay in the hospital.
It is introduced through the leg vessels or forearm,
It is ,minimally invasive procedure done under strict monitoring, in local anaesthesia in the cardiac cathlab.
Do not worry. Please go ahead with the procedure, very helpful for your cardiac status.
Take care
