When Can I Do Home Pregnancy Test After Ovulation?

Hi doctor,I'm 25 years old .My last periods date was 20th feb and as per doctors view my egg got ruptured on 20th day(11th march).Im so eager to know im pregnant or not.When can i do hcg test for better results or else if i get my periods on around which date i will get.

The home pregnancy test is performed on the urine preferably the first-morning urine sample. This test detects the increased levels of a hormone called HCG which is produced by some of the cells of products of conception. It takes about eight to ten days for these hormones to be detectable for these tests. So please carry out this test eight to ten days after the missed period for the reliable report.

You may go for ultrasonography also at this period which also gives a reliable diagnosis. Beta hCG tests which are available are more specific and more sensitive tests. These tests can give reliable results for detection of pregnancy even two to three days after the missed period. However, they are costlier. Now you have to choose the test and the period accordingly.
