When Can I Start A Fiber Rich Diet And Workout Exercises After An Episode Of Mild Diverticulitis?

Hello. I am a 31 year old male and just had an episode of mild diverticulitis. I have a good BMI, i am very active. CT scan was conclusive that i had Diverticulitis. They started me on Augmentin 875-125 twice a day for 10 days because i do not tolerate Cipro. Its been 5 days. When will i be able to work out again? How long before i start to add fiber back in my diet? I am worried about overdueing it.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There is no need for antibiotics to begin with. But to answer your question, all you should do is listen to your body; if you feel OK, try start working out again. Add fiber as soon as you like.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
