When Colonoscopy Should Be Done After Blood Is Found In Feces?

My DOctor has advised me to have a colonoscopy as my tests came back with blood in the faeces. I have asn appointment for 8 weeks time but my daughter is urging me to come home and do it next week I am currently working overseas - I don t like 8 weeks would make much difference, but should I do it sooner

Noted blood in stool present....
So yes if need by your surgeon colonoscopy can be done as soon as possible...

Meanwhile if it is not possible then to rule out other causes I will advise stool examination.
It might show eggs of amebiasis....that is parasitic infection....

If show pus cells then bacterial dysentery suspected....Antibiotic given....

If stool occult blood positive then apart from parasitic cause it could be inflammatory bowel disease....

Meanwhile take soft and bland diet.....
