When Do Periods Begin After Starting Birth Control Pills?

Hello, I am starting my new birth control and it is the pill and it says to either take it on the first day of my period or on a sunday and my period was supposed to come saturday but it hasnt yet so i decided to take the pill yesterday since it was a sunday, will my period still come?

I think you should wait for periods to come and don't take the pill.
Take the pills the first day of cycle.
