When Is A C-section Delivery Required?

Good Evening, I am 38.5 weeks pregnant, and was sent for an ultrasound last week unexpectedly. The observation appears to be 'normal'. However, the reference to anterior placenta is concerning due to how far along I am. Could you please provide clarification, as to when this condition may require a c-section? Thank you,
Penelope Nolan

Hi,
I understand your concern.
The concern about placent ain late weeks of pregnancy mostly is - post maturity & fibrosis of placenta - due to long running pregnancy & absence of natural induction of labor. The fobrosed/degenarated placent can not carry sufficient blood to baby-
To avoid the fetal risk in, continuing pregnancy/stress of normal delivery to fetus ,planned LSCS is indicated in such case.
Thanks.
