When Is It Safe To Stop The Ecosprin Post Angioplasty?

Hello, My mother has meningioma, and she needs to get the tumour operated soon as it is quite big and she may have another convulsion. However she had an angioplasty on 1st July 2018 and has been taking ecosprin since then. My question is when is it advisable/safe to stop the ecosprin post angioplasty as she needs to have her meningioma surgery. P.S. she suffers from diabetes, hypertension (which is under control recently) Kindly Help, -Deep

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Ecosprin has be stopped one day prior to the surgery. It can be restarted on the next day. However, slight variation can happen depending on the procedure and anaesthesia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
