Hi doc.. i am 31years old women.. my husband n i plan to put use the iud cooper t for our family planning.. so may i know when is the exact time i can insert the iud cooper t.. we plan to use the cooper t iud immediately.. i just finished my period for this month.. today is my 15days.. so can i insert the cooper t iud today or tomorrow.
HI, Welcome to HCM, I read your query and i appreciate your concern regarding this issue. You can insert IUD at any time of your cycle But the best time is after your periods like 11 or 12 day. Yes you can insert IUD but for that purpose I would suggest you to visit Gynaecologist so that before insertion proper examination should be done to rule out any pelvic infection,which is a contraindication for IUD. After insertion you have to monitor string/thread after every cycle to make sure its in place. Avoid intercourse for atleast 24 hours after insertion. There can be mild pain or bleeding so do not worry about it. In case of any other symptom visit hospital immediately.
