When Is The Earliest Time To Check For Pregnancy?

Hi I have a question about a possible pregnancy. I had unprotected sex 4 weeks ago and have a lot of pregnancy symptoms. I took a test and there was a faint plus sign that faded into just a straight line meaning negative. Is it too early to test? My period is due next week.

Hi,
Thanks for consulting us.
I think this is too early for testing & you may get false negative results.
Wait till you miss your period, & then go for the test. If positive you are pregnant, if negative & no periods again repeat the test in one week.
Different strips have different sensitivities. Most can detect a pregnancy 14 days post ovulation roughly at the time of your expected periods. Some can detect pregnancy before this time but sooner you test the more is the risk of false negatives.
Take care.
