Hi my name is Katerina and I might be pregnant. We'll I want to be. But I have heard lots about ovulating and I don't know if I am because they are saying you need to be ovulating and I don't know if I am or I'm not. My last period was around January 3-6 only 3 days and it's never ever in the same date. Please help me.
Hi Ms. Katerina, A normal menstrual cycle has a cycle variation of a week and the time of ovulation is calculated back from the first day of the next period. It is two weeks prior to the day of next period. If the cycle is of 28 days duration, it falls on day 14 and so on. To predict the ovulation time, you can perform ovulation tests, get a follicular study or simply measure your basal body temperature from day one of your cycle. Ovulation is indicated by a slight rise in the body temperature and if conception occurs, this rise persists. You can thus time your intercourse around ovulation period. Hope this helps.
