Hello,
thanks for using health care magic

There are various types of STDs including viral, parasitic and bacterial infections.
The incubation period of each infection varies.

Some bacterial infections have shorter incubation period and would manifest as soon as possible. such is the case with gonorrhea and syphilis. However, others would stay silently such as Chlamydia.

Viral infections such as herpes could stay latent until you have a condition in which your immunity is reduced. Use of rapid test to diagnosis HIV is done at three months and at six months after the exposure.

However, tests could be used to determine these infections and you do not need to stay up to 8 years.

Best regards
Dr Achuo
