Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 90 yuears old, 5 feet 3 inches, 122 pounds with coronary artery disease (CAD)plus I also have PostPoliosyndrome (polio virus in my body which makes me very tired) My right leg has lost most of its muscles. I take 25 mg. of losartan Potassium. What time of day is the best time to take the medicine. Also, my energy level is very low.
It might be better to take blood pressure medications at night if you will take it as a single daily dose. This is because the blood pressure may go down and increase the risk for falls if you take it during the day. If taken before bedtime, this is not a real risk. On the other hand, some patients feel better by dividing the daily dose into two doses, half in the morning and a half in the evening. You may try and see which has a better effect on you.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
