When Should Alprim Be Started For Bladder Infection Treatment?
Yesterday my GP prescribed Alprim for a bladder infection and he told me to take it in the afternoon or at night with food. The pharmacist told me to take it as I went to bed. However, like a dill, I forgot. I do think my symptoms are slowly worsening....would it be OK to start taking it now, in the morning? Or should I wait at least until this afternoon as advised by the doctor or bedtime?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Alprim contains trimethoprim. You can take it after morning breakfast also. There is no harm in that. If you don't get relief from bladder infection even after complete course of Alprim (trimethoprim) then you should go for urine examination to confirm the infection and culture and antibiotic sensitivity testing. that will help you to fine exact antibiotic which is effective against UTI. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
