I have changed from yasmin pill to mercilon but my doctor has not stated when i should start to take my new pill. i took my last yasmin pill on saturday and today is now wednesday. do i take mercilon the following saturday or do i wait a month until my next period?
If you have completed the course of pills before shifting to the new medication, you can start the pills within five days of the onset of menstrual cycle and this will offer a protected cycle.
If you are in the middle of your cycle, you can start consuming the pills immediately, but, the cycle is not well protected. In such a case, please use additional protection for this cycle and if possible, the next also to ensure good protection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
