When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test After Missing A Period?
I was on the pill for a little less then 3 years. I stopped taking it in Jan. We waited 30 days to start trying. I misscarried March 24th :( Got may period April 24th (started spotting for 2 days then the mornal for 5 days). It has now been 65 days and no period. When I had not gotten my period by 5/3 I took a home test first thing in the am and it was +. I took another the next day first thing in the am and it was -. I thought I may have not held it in long enough so I took a 3rd test the following am and it too was neg. I called my doc and they had me take a blood test 6/9... it came back neg. 65 days now and I still haven't gotten it. I don't know if I am messed b/c my mc or what. We were planning on waiting 2 cycles to start tryign again. When we got the + test we did it w/o protection a few times... we are no longer using protection and leaving it in God's hands. My doc said to wait 3 months and if I don't get it by July they will have me come in. That just seems SO LONG to wait. If I am preg I want to know for sure so we are doing everything right... I don't want to go through another mc if it can be helped.
As you have not got periods for 65 days you will need to undergo ultrasound to see whether your uterus is having lining of sufficient thickness to have menses or not. Secondly your hormones are to be tested including thyroid hormones. Don't take stress as stress affects menstrual cycle. There are medication called primolut which you will have to take after consulting your doctor to get menses.
